Accessibility statement
Draft — to be reviewed before launch. Written from Rowsmith’s code on 27 October 2026. It isn’t legal advice: a qualified lawyer reviews it before the first sale. The highlighted blanks and notes are for the owner.
We want everyone to be able to convert and check their statements. This statement covers the Rowsmith web app and website at https://rowsmith.app.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Status: partially conformant. Much of Rowsmith meets the target, and we know of the gaps listed below. No outside auditor has assessed it yet.
What we’ve done and tested
- Keyboard: every cell is edited in place. Tab moves to the next cell and keeps what you typed; Up and Down move between rows in the same column (Alt+Up and Alt+Down from a date field); Ctrl+E (⌘E on a Mac) opens the export. A “Skip to export” link jumps past the table. With several statements open, each is a button above the review, the one on screen marked as current, and Tab moves between them.
- Focus: focus stays where you were when the table redraws, the password field takes focus when it’s needed, and Escape closes the page view and returns you to your row.
- Errors and flags: a flagged row has a written note with the numbers (not just a colour), linked to the row’s fields for screen readers. An amount that can’t be read is marked as invalid, with a message beside it.
- Contrast: text and control colours were measured with the WCAG formula in each of four independent design reviews, and the failures found were fixed.
- Touch: on touch screens each row has one 44-pixel “Row actions” button that lists its actions by name, and on phones the table becomes two-line entries with the running balance.
- Files: a file picker works everywhere drag and drop does.
- Motion is reduced when your system asks for less motion.
- Automated end-to-end runs in Chromium check the keyboard paths, the skip link and Ctrl+E, focus after edits, dark mode and phone widths.
Known limitations
- Screen readers: we haven’t yet done a full test with VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS.
- Page view: the view that shows where a row came from on the PDF is a visual aid, and can be enlarged to 150% or 200%. The same information is in the table.
- New look: Rowsmith was restyled in October 2026. An independent design review of the new look was done on 27 October 2026, and what it found was fixed. The colours were measured again from rendered styles, in light and dark: text at least 4.5:1, and the edges of controls at least 3:1.
- Scanned PDFs (pictures of pages, with no text) can’t be read, for anyone. Rowsmith says so plainly.
- Your files: we can’t change the accessibility of the PDFs your bank produces or of the programs you import exports into.

If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact [Accessibility enforcement body for the owner’s country, if any].
How we assessed this
